Last Friday 20/10/2023 was a day full of emotions for our cheese factory Quesos del Casar, and especially for GRAN CASAR, our star brand of Torta del Casar PDO.

Mario Blasco, manager of Quesos del Casar, collected for the second consecutive year the winning diploma of the XXIII tasting-competition of the Torta del Casar Week, which celebrates its 29th edition. Mario remembered his parents, Engracia and Adrián, and had some emotional words for the entire human team behind GRAN CASAR and who makes it possible for our Torta del Casar DOP to be the most demanded and appreciated.

«I know that the Torta del Casar Designation of Origin is in good hands». With these words, the presenter Gran Wyoming, accompanied by the journalist Sandra Sabatés and the Cáceres actress, Cristina Gallego, thanked him for the award that the Torta del Casar PDO Regulatory Council gave him that night.

Official personalities also attended, such as the president of the Cáceres Provincial Council, Miguel Ángel Morales, the president of the PDO, Ángel Pacheco and the president of the Extremadura Assembly, Blanca Martín, who said a few words in recognition of the good work being done to give our community a greater and better national and international presence.
